Her two young daughters will at some point be getting their periods. Jill is starting to experience the changes that come with perimenopause. Puberty and menopause aren’t talked about all that much. They’re seen as being taboo. When a woman reaches her non-fertile years, she is seen as perhaps less valuable. When Jill works with women who are entering perimenopause, she often finds that women don’t realize these changes (trouble sleeping, fatigue, weight gain, etc.) are a natural transition their bodies are going through. So while her daughter is going through hormonally changes as she reaches puberty and beyond, mom is going through hormonally changes as her fertility declines.
